In the Name of Allāh.
When Sharī’ah (Islāmic Jurisprudence) is mentioned today, there is this preconceived notion by non-Muslims (even some Muslims); that it’s about killing, cutting hands, stoning, and terrorism. But, this is not true! That’s the propaganda of the West.
Islām is a religion whose Jurisprudence’s higher objectives always aim at the promotion of common goals and benefits and the prevention of harm. There is this awesome quote from Imām Ibn Qayyim (Raḥimahullāh), he said: “The foundation of the Sharī’ah is wisdom and the safeguarding of people’s welfare in this life and the next. In its entirety, it is about justice, mercy, wisdom, and good. Every rule which replaces justice with injustice, mercy with hardship, goodness with mischief, and wisdom with idiocy, is a ruling that does not belong to the Shari’ah, even though it might have been claimed to be according to some interpretation…” [See I’lam al-Muwaqqi’in, vol.1, pg.333].
Hence, let this be a call on the non-Muslims to accept the peace of Islām. Tomorrow may be late. We know and appreciate that the only acceptable religion with Allāh is Islām (the Path of total submission to the Will of God) even if the world has developed into a multi-religious society. Allāh says (in Sūrah Aal-‘Imrān [3] verse 85): “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islām, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter, he will be one of the losers.”
I beseech Allāh to save us from loss. (Aameen)
