In the Name of Allah.

It’s no denying that many people (especially the disbelievers) hate meeting their Lord. But, death is inexorable. Allah says (in Surah Al-Jumu’ah [62] verse 8): “Say (to them): Verily, the death from which you flee will surely meet you…”

Then, shouldn’t one’s concern be dying at a better time? We know Islam to be the only religion (with Allah), and here is a pointer as it contains even the information on a better day to die. Hence, what day is that?

As recorded in Musnad Ahmad and Sunan At-Tirmidhi, ‘AbduLlah Ibn ‘Amr (RadiyaLlahu ‘Anhu) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Allah saves every Muslim who dies on Friday or during its night from the Fitnah (trial) of the grave.”

However, the one that will benefit from dying on the day (or night) of Jumu’ah is the one who breathes his last while in the state of Islam. Allah says (in Surah Al-‘Imran [3] verse 85): “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the hereafter, he will be one of the losers.”

I beseech Allah to take our souls as Muslims and on the day of Jumu’ah. (Aameen)
