STEERING CLEAR OF FALSEHOOD

In the Name of Allāh.

Alas, in this day and age, the voices of falsehood ring loud and clear. We are seeing ignorant people disguising themselves as learned ones, speaking in Allāh’s Name with no authority whatsoever, misinterpreting textual evidence, deceiving the masses, and leading them astray from the straight path. How many fall prey to these wolves in sheep’s clothing, forsaking their intellect and their connection to Allāh, and blindly following the path of misguidance? Allāh warns: “And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: ‘This is lawful and this is forbidden,’ to invent lies against Allāh. Verily, those who invent lies against Allāh will never prosper.” [Sūrah An-Naḥl (16): 116]

Even more disheartening is the trend of some Muslims outsourcing their prayers to those self-proclaimed friends of Allāh, thinking that they hold the key to people’s salvation when in reality, they know not even a grain of sand in the desert of which Allāh knows. Why should there be a third party between us and Allāh? Why, then, do they abandon their supplication, their connection to the Almighty, for the empty promises of charlatans?

Dear respected brethren, let’s not be swayed by those deceitful spiritual warriors. Have we forgotten that Allāh is closer to us than our jugular vein, that He hears every invocation, and that He Alone holds the key to our salvation? Allāh says: “And when My Slaves ask you (O Muḥammad ﷺ) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So, let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may follow the right way.” [Sūrah Al-Baqarah (2): 186]

Therefore, let’s heed the admonition of the Qur’ān, turning away from the path of falsehood, the path of those who would mislead us from the straight path. The true Muslims must stay true to the path of Islām, following the footsteps of the Prophet (ﷺ), striving always to live by his teachings, wisdom, and guidance. Let’s turn to Allāh with our hearts open and our minds clear, seeking His Forgiveness, Grace, and Protection from the whispers of the Shayṭān and the deceitful words of those who would lead us astray.

“Allāh is the Protector of those who believe. He brings them out of darkness into light.” [Sūrah Al-Baqarah (2): 257] I beseech Allāh to make the light of His Guidance illuminate our way, guiding us through the darkness of deception and falsehood. Aameen
