SOLACE TO THE STRICKEN

In the Name of Allah.

Verily, harm (likewise benefit) is only from Allah and none among His creations can avert it when decreed. Therefore, there is neither need nor justification to invoke anyone other than Allah to remove an affliction – avert it before it strikes, bring a type of good or cause it to continue. He (Alone) has power over all that.

Allah says (in Surah Yunus [10] verse 107): “And if Allah touches you with harm, there is none who can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you, there is none who can repel His Favor which He causes it to reach whomsoever of His slaves He wills. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.”

As Muslims, we are to rely on Allah Alone (not the magicians, soothsayers or other liars). Let’s abandon and shun actions, statements, and beliefs that are prohibited for us. If we hold firmly on to that, we will dissipate and erase great evils from our society, while preserving our good nature from misguidance and superstitious whims.

I beseech Allah to grant the afflicted perfect solace and forgive us all. (Aameen)
