BLESSING IN DISGUISE

In the Name of Allāh.

Sometimes, we whine (about Allāh) over the trials which hit us without understanding that, trial is a good thing (a blessing in disguise) if we can persevere it. As recorded in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever Allāh wants good for, He puts them to test. He puts them through difficulties.” Do you know that a moment of hardship is an opportunity to be patient and merit great status, Allāh’s Mercy and Blessings? The more suffering and patience, the more blessing – more than one can imagine.

Besides, it’s indeed impossible for us not to be tested at all. Allāh says (in Surah Al-Ankaboot [29] verse 2): “Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: We believe, and will not be tested.” However, the sad thing is, many are impatient, excessively love affluence and hate trials whatsoever. Allāh says (in Surah Al-Baqarah [2] verse 155): “And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, and hunger and loss of wealth, and lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.).” Let’s always remember that our existence is at first a trial.

I beseech Allāh to make us of the Sabirin. (Aameen)
