SPEAKING IN GOD’S NAME

In the Name of Allāh.

I have passed by places and heard the acclaimed men of God speaking in God’s Name with no authority whatsoever. However, it’s pathetic that we now have some Muslims following suit. They wrongly speak with authority, misinterpret textual evidence and mislead people from the straight Path in the name of making it in life. Allāh warns (in Surah An-Nahl [16] verse 116): “And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: ‘This is lawful and this is forbidden,’ to invent lies against Allāh. Verily, those who invent lies against Allāh will never prosper.” But, who is blameworthy here – the liars or those who obey them?

Another serious cancer plaguing Muslims today is that they outsource their prayers (or finding solution to their problems) to those liars and they thus get extorted. Why should there be a third party between them and their Creator (Allāh)? Perchance, the intermediary is even (spiritually) poorer than the one who took him so. Can’t they call Allāh themselves? Is He not close to them? Has He not promised to answer the supplication of the one who calls Him? Allāh says (in Surah Al-Baqarah [2] verse 186): “And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad [ﷺ]) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So, let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may follow the right way.” What more do we then need?

I beseech Allāh to save us from evil. (Aameen)
