In the Name of Allāh.
The unquenchable thirst for money, power, and fame can corrupt individuals, driving them to pursue evil and harm others for personal benefit. This relentless pursuit of materialism and power, often at the expense of morality and righteousness, poses a significant risk to the pillars of a just and peaceful society.
Unfortunately, many have fallen prey to these ruinous desires, leading to heinous crimes. They kill for money, rape for power, and wallow in other great evils. What drives them to be so unjust towards themselves?
However, it’s crucial to remember that Allāh is ever-present, fully aware of our actions, no matter where or when we commit them. His Knowledge penetrates our very beings, and He is well-acquainted with our private and public deeds. Allāh is the All-Seer, and nothing escapes His Watch. He says: “He is with you (by His Knowledge) wheresoever you may be. And Allāh is the All-Seer of what you do.” [Sūrah Al-Ḥadīd (75): 4]
Despite the prevalence of evil and immorality in our world today, it’s crucial that we do not remain silent. Dear brethren, let us take heed and stand against these heinous crimes and injustices. More so, let’s not be deluded that the perpetrators of evil will escape being punished by Allāh – whether here or the Hereafter. Indeed, the end promises to be bad for the wrongdoers, sinners, and criminals. Allāh warns: “Say: ‘Tell me, if the punishment of Allāh comes to you suddenly (during the night), or openly (during the day), will any be destroyed except the Zālimūn (polytheists and wrong-doing people)?’” [Sūrah Al-An’ām (6): 47]
In light of this, we should seek refuge in Allāh, the Most Merciful, and ask for His Guidance and Protection from the evils that threaten to take root in our hearts and minds. Let’s strive to build a world that is grounded in righteousness and compassion, where justice and morality reign supreme.
I beseech Allāh to guide us to virtuous actions, protect us from the seductive traps of materialism and power, and save us from the consequences of evil, both in this life and in the Hereafter. Aameen
