WELCOME TO ISLĀM!

All praise is due to Allāh for His Grace, Light, and Guidance that illuminate our journey along the path of Islām.

This morning’s FAJR REMINDER is dedicated to our cherished brothers and sisters worldwide who have recently embraced the beauty of Islām. We open our arms and hearts to welcome them with warmth and compassion.

As they navigate the storms of trials and tribulations that may come their way, it’s essential for them to remain steadfast and patient, for believers will inevitably face tests of faith. Having chosen this path for the Sake of Allāh, the actions of others cannot harm them. Allāh reassures us (as He strengthened the early Muslims [i.e., the Ṣaḥābah]): “So do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers.” [Sūrah Aal-‘Imrān (3): 139]

On our part (i.e. the Muslims they met in the religion), it is our duty to support them without hesitation. They are undoubtedly an invaluable part of the progress of the Muslim Ummah. As Allāh instructs: “…Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwā (virtues, righteousness, and piety); but do not help one another in sins and transgression…” [Sūrah Al-Mā’idah (5): 2]

It is clear that reverts sometimes prove to be more beneficial to Islām, perhaps due to their deep appreciation for the faith as they learn about it with open minds. Truly, this is a Favor from Allāh, granted only to those He chooses. However, it is important for them to avoid arrogance and not see themselves as doing Islām any favor. It is, in fact, Allāh who has favored them by guiding them to Islām. Allāh says: “They regard as a favor upon you (O Muḥammad ﷺ) that they have embraced Islām. Say: ‘Count not your Islām as a favor upon me. Nay, but Allāh has conferred a favor upon you, that He has guided you to the Faith if you indeed are true.’” [Sūrah Al-Hujurāt (49): 17]

In conclusion, they should fully embrace Islām, study it diligently, and gain the confidence to share it with others. They should strive to add value to the Ummah and be devoted and obedient servants of Allāh.

I beseech Allāh to continuously illuminate our path with the light of Islām, guiding us toward peace and righteousness, and enabling us to support one another as brothers and sisters in Islām, lifting each other in times of need. Aameen.
