Nourishing your soul.

ONLY IF YOU GIVE THANKS

In the Name of Allāh.

We have been wonderfully created, with our body parts appropriately positioned. Furthermore, we are endowed with numerous advantages. Can you imagine walking around without clothing? Consider the fact that you can sleep peacefully while many others cannot. Although some people may struggle to eat due to poverty or illness, you have the privilege of eating and drinking with ease.

Additionally, take a moment to reflect on your ability to reason and remember those who suffer from cognitive impairments. Look around—do you not see the afflicted and those in unfortunate circumstances? Regardless of your challenges, remember that your situation is still significantly better than others. So, which of the Blessings of Allāh will you deny? None! If you attempt to count the Graces of Allāh upon you, you would find it impossible to count them.

A rich tapestry of bounties unfolds around us; the Gifts of Allāh appear before our very eyes, each blessing a thread interwoven into the fabric of our lives, showcasing His Infinite Mercy and Compassion. However, many forget these gifts, blinded by life’s challenges. How ungrateful people can be! Faced with minor difficulties, some choose to misbehave, contemplate leaving Islām (and some have already left), neglect prayer, and avoid their Muslim brothers and sisters to escape admonition while seriously whining about Allāh.

Let’s stop the complaints! Instead, let’s be patient, express our gratitude to Allāh (by worshipping Him alone), and remain steadfast in Islām. With patience, thankfulness, and commitment to our faith, we can find peace amidst life’s turbulent seas. Allāh warns: “And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: ‘If you give thanks (i.e., by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allāh) I will give you more (of My Blessings), but if you are thankless (i.e., disbelievers), Verily! My Punishment is indeed severe.’” [Sūrah Ibrāhīm (14): 7]

Dear brothers and sisters, let’s reflect and always be thankful to Allāh. Each daybreak presents a fresh opportunity to nurture our thankfulness, to recall the gifts Allāh has granted us, and to rejuvenate our faith in Him.

I beseech Allāh to make us His grateful servants. Aameen.
