DO THE DOS, NOT THE DON’TS

In the Name of Allāh.

Exalted is Allāh, Who had laid down through Islām Obligations that are not to be ignored, Limits that are not to be transgressed, and Prohibitions that are not to be violated. Hence, we should obey Allāh as that is intrinsically easy.

More so, we need to fathom the essence of following the Command (i.e. having complete obedience or submissiveness to) of Allāh and His Messenger, which implies not arrogantly transgressing the set Limits through seeking excuses in (not doing) the commanded or (doing) the prohibited. Allāh warns (in Sūrah At-Ṭalāq [65] verse 1): “Whosoever transgresses the set limits of Allāh, then indeed he has wronged himself.”

Indeed, anyone who dishonors himself and thwarts his existence by disobeying Allāh should be fully shamed for doing the difficult (i.e. the transgression), and in fact, the implication is serious. Allāh says (in Sūrah An-Nisā’ [4] verse 14): “And whosoever disobeys Allāh and His Messenger (i.e. Prophet Muḥammad) and transgresses His Limits, He will cast him into the Fire, to abide therein, and he shall have a disgraceful torment.”

O, Believers! Obey Allāh and do not transgress. I beseech Allāh to save us from transgression and Hellfire. (Aameen)
