In the Name of Allāh.
I read a post this morning on research conducted to show that most of the countries applying Islāmic Principles have their citizens not traditionally Muslims. It also discusses how worse the condition of the Muslims is vis-à-vis moral vices.
Isn’t it flummoxing and questionable that a Muslim correctly bags sound creed, habitually prays, vehemently fasts, remarkably memorizes the Qur’ān by heart, and euphoniously recites it, and with all that, he (or she) is morally bankrupted through fornicating, lying to people, abusing, cursing, backbiting, and slandering people, unfair consumption of people’s wealth, killing people unjustly, ill-treating animals, disrespecting environment and wearing the garments of arrogance, anger, greed, envy, and show-off? Then, something came to my mind – why won’t it be so when hearts are sealed?
As recorded in Musnad Imām Aḥmad, the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever leaves three Jumu’ah (prayers) consecutively considering it not very important, Allāh will seal his heart.” The Jumu’ah prayer consists of the Ṣalāt (itself) and the Khutbah (Jumu’ah religious talk). So, the one who leaves Khutbah leaves Jumu’ah.
Generally, people only have Yawm Al-Jumu’ah to be reminded about Allāh. But, sadly, many are busy chasing the material world, and they don’t have time to attend the gathering of success, the gatherings to be constantly reminded by Allāh. Of course, this is not a tale, we know what goes on in our society.
How can the world be comfortable for a living when we have “bad” Muslims? We shout “Economic Recession” today, isn’t it the one we create? If we are all good, won’t the world be okay to live? How can one then be good if he abandons the worship of His Lord?
I beseech Allāh to please rectify our affairs and make us better Muslims. (Aameen)

Ma shaa Allah. You are very correct we have Muslims by appearance but not Muslims by heart. May Almighty Allah continue to ease our affairs aright. Jazakumulahu khairah for this piece. It is a great reminder for me too. Shukran jazeelah
Thank you for your contribution, it shows that it resonates greatly with you. May Allāh rectify us. Bārakallāhu feekum.
