WITH HUMILITY AND GENTILITY

In the Name of Allāh.

A great test of a truly noble man is his humility, and the Ibad-ur-Rahman are truly noble, as Allāh provides a glimpse of their awesome characteristics, with specific mention of humility and gentility.

Allāh says (in Surah Al-Furqan [25] verses 63-65): “And the Ibad-ur-Rahman (Slaves of the Most Beneficent [Allāh]) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply with mild words of gentleness. And those who spend the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing.  And those who say: “Our Lord! Avert from us the torment of Hell. Verily! Its torment is ever an inseparable, permanent punishment.”

One can’t sink the earth surface no matter how he walks on it. Why won’t we then strive to be one of the Ibad-ur-Rahman, those who humbly walk on earth and treat people gently? Striving to know what it takes to be like them is part of Taqwa (consciousness of Allāh).

I beseech Allāh to increase us in Taqwa and make us of the noble. (Aameen)
