In the Name of Allāh.
Alḥamdullilah, we’re blessed to witness another Friday, a day so precious that Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) outlined its myriad blessings, one of which is a brief yet powerful moment when our supplications are guaranteed to be answered.
Abū Hurayrah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) reported that Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) spoke about Friday, stating: “There is an hour (opportune time) on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while praying and asks something from Allāh, then Allāh will surely meet his demand.” He (the Prophet) indicated the brevity of that time with his hands. [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 935]
The timing of this auspicious hour is a topic of discussion among scholars. The most compelling evidence suggests it is the period following ‘Asr, as noted by Imām Aḥmad (Raḥimahullah). Jābir Ibn ‘Abdullāh reported that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: “Friday is made of twelve hours. No Muslim finds himself supplicating to Allāh Almighty during one of them but Allāh will give it to him. Thus, seek it out in the last hour after the afternoon prayer.” [Sunan Abī Dāwūd 1048]
In this fleeting yet mighty window of time, Allāh generously promises to grant the supplications of His faithful servants.
Dear brethren, let us seize this invaluable opportunity to invoke Allāh with sincerity and humility, beseeching Him to fulfill our deepest wishes. With the knowledge that Allāh has graciously set aside a time when our pleas will be answered, let us make the most of this Divine bounty and ask Allāh for all that our hearts desire.
I beseech Allāh to accept our supplications and guide us towards the true understanding of Islām. Aameen
