In the Name of Allāh.
Praise be to Allāh; once again, it is Friday! As we welcome this blessed day, let us reflect on the significant words of our beloved Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ): “The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. Ādam was created on Friday, and on it, he entered Paradise, and on it, he was expelled from therein. The Hour will not be established but on Friday.” [Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 854] This statement illustrates why the Prophet (ﷺ) emphasized the importance of this day, consistently reminding Muslims of its value and advising them not to take its obligations lightly.
Despite the sanctity of this day, many individuals find themselves neglecting their responsibilities, drawn instead to worldly distractions such as business or entertainment, as their hearts are captivated by the temporary pleasures of this life. Allāh cautions us: “And when they see some merchandise or some amusement [beating of Tambur (drum) etc.] they disperse headlong to it, and leave you (Muḥammad) standing [while delivering Jumu’ah religious talk (Khutbah)]. Say: ‘That which Allāh has is better than any amusement or merchandise! And Allah is the Best of providers.’” [Sūrah Al-Jumu’ah (62): 11]
Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, let us honor the sanctity of Jumu’ah and diligently fulfill its requirements and recommended practices.
I beseech Allāh to bless us on this day, accept our humble acts of worship, and grant us an abundance of goodness. Aameen!
