In the Name of Allāh.
To sincerely love Allāh and His Messenger (ﷺ) means to love what they love and detest what they detest. All Muslims must maintain love for (i.e., make dearer) Allāh and His Messenger (ﷺ) above all else. However, some individuals, caught up in their desires, may find themselves lured by Shayṭān‘s whispers, turning away from the love of Allāh and His Messenger (ﷺ) in favor of the fleeting pleasures of this world.
When Eemān (Faith), Tawḥīd (Monotheism), prayer, fasting, and giving charity begin to lose their appeal, while Shirk (associating partners with Allāh), Bid’ah (innovation in the Deen), Zinā‘ (illegal sexual relations), and Riba (interest or usury), etc., become enjoyable, it is a clear sign that Shayṭān is influencing you. Thus, a sincere U-turn is required to be safe from disbelief. Allāh informs: “But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allāh – Islāmic Monotheism), for them is destruction, and (Allāh) will make their deeds vain. That is because they hate that which Allāh has sent down (this Qur’ān and Islāmic laws, etc.), so He has made their deeds fruitless.” [Sūrah Muḥammad (47): 9]
Additionally, the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever possesses the following three qualities will taste the sweetness (delight) of Eemān; the one to whom Allāh and His Messenger become dearer than anything else, the one who loves a person and he loves him only for Allāh’s Sake, and whoever hates to revert to disbelief, after Allāh has saved him from it, as he hates to be thrown into the Fire.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 16]
Uh-oh! Let’s reflect on whether we genuinely embody the above-mentioned virtues. Many may fall short! I beseech Allāh to grant us unwavering Eemān and Istiqāmah (Steadfastness). Aameen
