THE SOURCE OF TRUE STRENGTH AND POWER

In the Name of Allāh.

It amazes me how some people fall into the trap of arrogance and self-confidence, thinking they are self-sufficient and that they even need no help from the Creator in certain issues because they have done the human needful. But what folly is this?

As the Qur’ān reminds us, all of creation needs Allāh’s Grace and Mercy. Indeed, even the mightiest of kings and the richest of men must bow before the Lord of the Worlds. Allāh says: “Whosoever is in the heavens and on earth begs of Him (its needs from Him). Every day He has a matter to bring forth (such as giving honor to some, disgrace to some, life to some, death to some, etc.)!” [Sūrah Ar-Raḥman (55): 29]

O people, let’s humble ourselves before the One Who holds all sovereignty in His Hands, the Lord of the Universe. He orders what happens, governs and controls the affairs of His creations, enforces rules, and shows mercy. Let us not forget that true strength and power don’t come from our efforts but from the Blessings of Allāh. Just as the camel submits to the rope that guides it, we must also submit to the Will of Allāh, trusting His Wisdom and Mercy to lead us on the path of righteousness. Allāh says: “And whosoever puts his trust in Allāh, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allāh will accomplish His purpose.” [Sūrah At-Ṭalāq (65): 3]

As we acknowledge our dependence on Him and turn our hearts to Him, seeking His Help and Guidance, we will find strength and peace beyond measure. I beseech Allāh to grant us the humility to recognize our dependence on Him and the wisdom to seek His Help and Guidance in all that we do. Aameen.
